One of the major cities of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana is renowned for its world-class white sand beaches, luxurious all-inclusive resorts, and lively water sportsdq culture. Its charm lies in its lush scenery, mountain ranges, turquoise blue waters, and long stretches of white sand coastlines. This is definitely something that’s worth gazing at even a thousand times!
If you are planning to tour the Dominican Republic, you should probably be looking for a spot in Punta Cana, like most travelers who are smitten by the beauty of this city. In this case, I have covered you with my list of six hostels that are worth staying while in the city. Let’s hop onto them to explore!
6 Hostels Worth-Staying in Punta Cana
Finding accommodation near most of the tourist attractions has remained my goal in my over 25 tours of the Dominican Republic. All these tours had made me stay in different places of the country, including hostels, hotels, and more.
After staying in a handful of hostels, I have shortlisted some of the best ones in Punta Cana to help you make an informed decision.

1. GAVA Hostel
Bavaro is undoubtedly the best place to stay while in Punta Cana. But which hostel should you be staying at?
Don’t look far because there’s GAVA Hostel, located just 1.5 km from the Punta Cana International Airport and 4.6 km from the city center.
GAVA Hostel offers spacious rooms for guests and travelers. It has available double and single rooms or dormitory-type of accommodations with free Wi-Fi access, a shared kitchen with all the basic kitchenware, a fridge, parking lots, an airport shuttle, laundry, complimentary toiletries, and non-smoking rooms.

2. Punta Cana Macao Guest House-Hostel
This family-managed accommodation is more like a fusion of a guest house and a hostel with available private and shared rooms.
For over five years, Punta Cana Macao Guest House-Hostel has been hosting dozens of travelers. For me, I booked a private room and my experience was amazing. Their rooms have a shared bathroom, an outdoor patio area, and a well-equipped kitchen.
But guests who are traveling on a budget can opt for a shared accommodation so they get to share the room payment equally with the other guests and save.
This guest-hostel offers free airport shuttle and laundry services.
3. EcoHostel
If you love nature, I recommend booking a bed or two at EcoHostel, a beautiful hostel made with recycled wood and bamboo. It has three rooms with twelve beds, a combined kitchen, a fridge, and a common area.
The best thing about EcoHostel is that it is just 380 meters away from the beach.
The hostel also features a beautiful terrace with hammocks from where I used to witness the picturesque views of the sunset and the town it overlooks, as it’s located in the city center near multiple outdoor restaurants, bars, and top tourist attractions.

4. Hotel Punto4
Don’t get confused by the name but Hotel Punto4 is one of the best hostels that you can find in Punta Cana, located just 4.8 km from Cocotal Golf and Country Club and 6.4 km from Cana Bay Golf Club. It’s also just 20 km away from Punta Cana International Airport.
During my stay at the hotel, I got every basic and exceptional amenity in an affordable package. It has a concierge service, a currency exchange facility, and excellent room service.
All the rooms at the hotel have a balcony, flat screen TV, a terrace with pleasing garden views, and a private bathroom. But the best thing here is they offer continental breakfast every morning.

5. Hostal Palmas de Punta Cana F2
Situated 8.3 km from the city center, Hostal Palmas de Punta Cana F2 in the Bavaro district of Punta Cana would be the best option for those who prefer cooking their own meals. This hostel has a shared kitchen that is equipped with all the basic cooking needs. But alternatively, guests can order food delivery, which was what I availed of.
The hostel offers airport shuttle service on demand but guests can opt to rent a car, which was the most beneficial and notable of all the services I had during my stay.
There is also a golf course just next to the hotel and you certainly wouldn’t find any problem with the hotel staff because they are quite friendly and can speak fluent English.
6. Lodging House Beach Punta Cana
This hostel offers accommodation for every budget range and you can ask for specific amenities in your room if you need any.
Besides offering private rooms, they also have rooms for groups with free internet access, parking, air conditioning, an outdoor swimming pool, a fridge/freezer, self-catering facilities, a cooker, and more.
Wrapping Up
Punta Cana is lined with a plethora of accommodations so finding one specific to your needs might be difficult. Hope this guide will help you skip this issue and make an informed decision about the hostel to book in Punta Cana.
